Respite Care

A short-term stay, with the same standard of care as our full-time residents.

What Is Respite Care?

Respite care is a short-term stay at HighWray — minimum stay is 2 weeks, usually up to 4 weeks — for anyone who needs some extra support for a while, or whose family carer needs a proper break.

It's not a lesser version of what we offer full-time residents. Respite guests receive the same personalised care plan, the same attentive team, and the same comfortable surroundings as anyone staying with us permanently.

People come into respite usually as their community support network need a break or planned holiday.

Respite care is dependent on availability and is usually confirmed around 4 weeks prior to respite dates required.

Arranging a Stay

Respite stays depend on us having a room available for the length of time needed, so it's best to get in touch as early as you can, especially if you're planning ahead. We'll talk through what's needed and help find a time that works.

Visitors are welcome throughout the day and evening — we'd just ask that you're mindful of mealtimes (8–9am, 12–1:30pm, and 5–6pm). Parking is available on site, both at the front and rear of the building.
