Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from families exploring care options.

What Respite Care Means

" The care my grandmother receives is exceptional. The staff look after residents as they would their own families — I couldn't recommend HighWray highly enough."

Still have questions?
How often is care plan reviewed?
Our care plans are reviewed every month as a standard or sooner if required. Families are invited to a care review with a member of the management or senior team 6 monthly, or sooner if requested.
What happens on move in day?
We appreciate move in day is overwhelming for both residents and families. We usually request admissions around 2pm, to allow us time to sit with you and run through your needs again to ensure nothing has changed. To allow your loved one to meet the team and arrange evening meal requests. You will be asked to complete a priority form, alongside a staff member, to ensure we have a record of belongings. A small amount of paperwork will be discussed and signed, this is sent out prior to admission to allow time to digest and raise any queries.
Can residents bring their own furniture and belongings?
Yes absolutely, small pieces of furniture, a chair, familiar pictures to place on the walls or window ledges. Anything that makes the room feel like home.
What’s included in cost of care?
24/7 access to Care, food & drink, laundry, support to access GP’s and medication requirements, housekeeping, activities and entertainment. Optional extras: newspapers, hairdressing, chiropody, physiotherapy, day trips out.
Is HighWray suitable for those with limited mobility?
Yes, we have accessible ramps throughout the home both internal and external. There is a lift to access all 3 floors of the building, staff can escort residents in the lift to ensure safety and provide reassurance.
What happens when I visit?
You will be shown around by a member of the office or senior team, given a chance to experience life at HighWray in real time. Where possible, you will meat with our manager or deputy manager and discuss your care needs. We can then arrange a pre assessment and take any further details.
What types of care does HighWray offer?

What age does HighWray accept residents from?
Ages 60 and above.
