Mealtimes at HighWray
Meals at HighWray are freshly prepared, with variety and choice, served at set times through the day:
- Breakfast: fresh fruit coupes, yoghurt, porridge, cereals, toast and eggs. A full hot breakfast is available with 24 hours' notice.
- 10am: tea trolley with a hot drink and an optional biscuit.
- Lunch: our main meal of the day. Homemade soup, a choice of two hot dishes (chosen each morning) and dessert.
- 3pm: afternoon tea with a hot drink and a choice of homemade cakes or biscuits.
- Evening meal: a hot or cold option chosen that day, and dessert.
- 8-9pm: supper with a hot drink and toast or crumpets.
For residents who need or prefer it, meals can also be brought to their room — as one of our respite guests found while recovering from an operation.
"Having meals brought to her, and the opportunity of help without doubt helped my mother recover so much better than being on her own at home."
Rachel C - Daughter of Resident

Dining, Done Nicely
Our dining room is more than a place to eat — residents tell us it's often beautifully set, sometimes with table decorations made during our craft activities, making mealtimes something to look forward to rather than just a routine.
"The dining room always looks lovely with table decorations sometimes made at the craft sessions."

What We Offer At HighWray
We source locally wherever we can, using seasonal fruit and vegetables for the tastiest food.
All our meat and sliced meats come from our local butcher, Farrells Emporium, who supply UK-grown meat.
Barn Owls – local farm produce: fruit/vegetables.
Bates Dairy – milk, cream, yoghurts, orange juice, bread.
Everything is home made, including afternoon tea each day.
